We are looking for a Grain Planner to join the Frontier team, based at Witham St Hughs on a full-time, permanent basis. We are open to hybrid options for this role, after an initial training period, with the right candidate working 3 days from the office and 2 days from home.

You will be responsible for executing the trading book while complying with contract terms to maintain or enhance the trading margin.

About You
Experience working in a similar role, planning the movement of goods would be useful
An interest or background in farming and agriculture would be useful but full training will be provided for the right candidate
Strong Communication skills both in person and on the telephone
Able to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
High level of accuracy and attention to detail with good problem-solving ability
IT Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft PC applications
Good numeracy skills
Strong understanding of the Commercial nature of business
Able to work both within a team and unsupervised
Able to manage and prioritise your own workload in a fast-paced, busy environment
Your Role
As a Grain Planner your role will involve:
Liaising with the traders / senior planners, ensuring Grain is planned and prioritised appropriately based on quality, variety, haulage cost and current market value
Liaising with storekeepers and forwarders, to manage stocks and maximise store potential
Processing claims and rejections on deliveries and take appropriate action including negotiating disputed claims
Liaising with the internal team / export facility, to ensure cargo of required specification is ready to meet all vessels
Making amendments to contracts as requested by the traders / senior planners
Identifying destinations with a potential long or short position and agree action with Trader.
Identifying contracts that require an extension, ensure details are agreed and amend contract to reflect
Ensuring all contracts are completed - ideally within 4 weeks after final movement / extension date
Checking details on contracts received and deal with any discrepancies
Identifying and actioning contract defaults
Working with Farm Traders, Consumers and Farmers to ensure information held is always up to date
Providing holiday / sick cover if required
Liaising with Quality team to resolve assurance queries
Building strong and effective working relationships with our major customers
Working collaboratively with all Frontier departments and internal customers
Liasing with Farm traders and Commercial Assistants to ensure appropriate communication with farmer suppliers.
