Job Description
AtkinsRéalis Infrastructure division is seeking to appoint an Associate Director - Asset & Information Management Practice to lead, inspire and develop its Networks & Drainage Solutions London and South East team.
Direction setters. Growth cultivators. Strategic motivators. That's how we describe our best Associate Directors. Could this be you?
Step into this rewarding leadership role in a supportive team. Your decisions will cultivate the success of our Networks & Drainage Solutions Practice, playing a significant role in developing our diverse, 280-strong team. With your hands-on and forward-thinking leadership, we'll have the right people and strategic plans to achieve our ambitious growth targets.
How?
You'll lead on signature projects, motivating your teams to deliver their best while giving them the best opportunities for their careers. At AtkinsRéalis we are known for our technical quality. You'll nurture this, delivering excellence on a range of critical projects and frameworks.
Who?
AtkinsRéalis is a world-leading design, engineering, and project management organisation. We connect people, data, and technology to transform the world's infrastructure and energy systems. Our Practices are our technical powerhouses and in this role, you'll ensure this people-power exceeds client expectations; you're the glue that holds everything together.
Why?
AtkinsRéalis ranks as one of LinkedIn's Top 25 Companies, where UK professionals want to work and stay once they join. We've also made the Times Top 50 employers for women. In our 2023 VOX Survey, 90% of employees felt recognized and valued, and 96% felt empowered to work flexibly around their priorities.
We're proud of our active employee networks, creating awareness, inclusion, and allyship for underrepresented employee groups. Not to mention programs supporting communities outside AtkinsRéalis, including schools, charities, ex-forces, and professional returners. We're committed to Engineering Better for the Planet and its People, from our global Engineering Net-Zero program to our business strategy based on UN Sustainable Development Goals.
You.
Must have a Clean Water, Wastewater, Surface Water Management or Drainage Design background working on major projects. You'll effectively identify and anticipate challenges, offering solutions you might have gained in your consultancy or client-side experience.
You've probably inspired and motivated a diverse team, showcasing leadership qualities. This role is about leading by example.
But what matters most to us is your mindset. You'll have to be "comfortable being uncomfortable"- adaptable and ready to step out of your comfort zone to solve complex problems. Navigating multifaceted relationships working closely with internal and external clients across Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities and Development, and Water demands a genuinely collaborative, open and respectful approach - you'll take your team and clients with you.
Responsibilities:
* Lead a skilled, diverse team, enhancing our reputation for innovation and technical quality on key projects.
* Help set the strategic direction of the practice with the Leadership Team, and plan and assign resources to deliver on it.
* Inspire, train, and retain team members, encouraging their growth and strategically strengthening the Practice.
* Be the go-to person for communication and support.
* Own key regional business metrics and contribute to winning local and national projects through direct client engagement and bid participation across all markets.
* Seek more business from existing clients, offer technical expertise for business development, and innovate service offerings; ensuring Net Zero is baked in.
* Enhance our partnership with our Global Technical Centre in India for better service delivery.
Key requirements:
* A leader who excels at motivating teams, welcomes innovation and inspiring growth.
* Quick to establish credibility and build relationships with senior industry figures and within AtkinsRéalis, communicating effectively across all levels.
* Has a history of successfully managing the design phase of large projects, with a knack for expanding client relationships and securing new projects.
* Demonstrates strong project management and business skills, taking charge of project teams, finances, and client communications.
* Informed about new trends, technologies, and best practices to keep us ahead in our markets.
* Holds Chartered Status.
Please note:
We have advertised this role as Associate Director to reflect what the market will expect of the job title, however, internally, we call the role "Practice Manager" so you will see that during the application process.

So, by default AtkinsRéalis offers flexible working, where there is no fixed 9 'till 5, no need for a 5-day week, no requirement for a full-time contract, and no requirement to spend all your working time in the office.
