Buyer - MRO (Materials, Repair and Operations)
CK Group are recruiting for a MRO (Materials, Repair and Operations) Buyer, to join a leading biopharmaceutical company, based at their site in Wrexham, on a hybrid basis (3 days per week on site). This is an initial 12-month contract, inside IR35.
Salary:
£400 - £500 per day Umbrella, depending on experience.
MRO Buyer role:
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive MRO Buyer to join their procurement team, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies for their new manufacturing line currently under construction. You will:
1. Identify and evaluate suppliers for MRO materials and services. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best value for the company.
2. Continuously look for alternative suppliers and strive to purchase directly from manufacturers whenever possible to optimize costs and quality.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and address any issues promptly.
4. Analyze and manage costs associated with MRO purchases, including tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement.
5. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
6. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, with an emphasis on adhering to sustainability criteria.
Your Background :
7. At least 3-5 years of experience in n MRO procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
8. Experience in maintenance operations.
9. Knowledge of Ariba sourcing and SAP.
10. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
11. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
12. Proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end projects and achieving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings.
