Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately, running until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a recent maths graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a school environment, particularly those considering a career in teaching, tutoring, or educational support. The successful candidate will work closely with students and teachers to enhance learning and provide targeted support in mathematics. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who need additional assistance with maths. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum. Helping to develop learning resources and materials to support students with different abilities. Supporting students in exam preparation, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning. Working closely with the maths department and SENCO to provide intervention sessions for students who require extra guidance. Encouraging students to develop confidence and enthusiasm in mathematics. Assisting with classroom behaviour management and promoting a positive learning environment. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help tailor support strategies. Candidate Requirements: A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred). A passion for maths education and helping students succeed. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly. A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student learning. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teachers and students. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
