We are looking for an experienced assigning photo editor to join the Photo Enterprise team on a short term contract basis for 5 months. This is a creative role that is central to the newsroom. You'll collaborate closely with editors, reporters and photographers to visually shape enterprise stories, participating in the process from pitch to publication. The ideal candidate will have an excitement for news and a rigorous attention to detail - you're someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment and juggling multiple projects. You have an in-depth awareness of the photo industry and contemporary photography scene, plus an advanced knowledge of industry standard editing tools. The role is a full-time, on site, short term contract in London. We'll trust you to: - Assignphotographers and videographers and source imagery for the Bloomberg terminaland Bloomberg's homepage - Collaborate with the wider newsroom using Bloomberg's wholly-owned content,available third-party content and web-based proprietary tools to illustrate avariety of news stories for Bloomberg platforms You'll need to have: - 5 years of relevant photo assigning/editing experience in an editorial news environment, spanning portraiture and reportage - Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, FTP, CMS/DAM systems - Keen awareness of the current events and decision makers affecting markets, economics, geopolitics, companies and government policy - The presence of mind to rapidly interpret text and match with appropriate imagery - An eye for detail and awareness of cultural sensitivities to make photo selections that are both accurate and tasteful - Familiarity with the legal issues involved with image licensing, permissions and privacy rights - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Desire to excel in a fast-paced global environment and meet urgent deadlines We'd love to see: - Experience of graphic/web design, html/CSS, multimedia storytelling, Premiere Pro/Final Cut and audio - International assigning experience - Strategic problem solving and research skills - The desire to take visual presentation to the next level If this sounds like you: Apply if you think we're a good match.
