Role: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Nuneaton
Rate: £380 per day PAYE - 3 Month initial contract
Schedule: 3 days per week
Your role as a Health and Safety Manager:
This is an incredible opportunity to work for a highly recognised client in their Nuneaton facility on a 3-day per week basis for a 3-month contract. You will be responsible for ensuring safety is maintained through the 3-5 month process of site closure. This includes emergency response plans, ensuring equipment is serviced, and maintaining first aid and fire marshal cover.
Responsibilities:
1. Keep up to date with new HSE legislation and industry best practices.
2. Support the UK Operations teams in implementing the Health & Safety Management System.
3. Deliver task and area risk assessments as required.
4. Develop risk reduction and management strategies.
5. Conduct ergonomic risk assessments across UK Operations.
6. Implement and manage regular safety audits and inspections.
7. Collaborate with relevant departments to address identified deficiencies.
8. Develop and review a site emergency response plan for various scenarios.
9. Conduct regular scenario-based drills for emergency preparedness.
10. Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring timely corrective actions.
11. Support employees who have experienced workplace injuries or illnesses.
12. Evaluate the safety performance of external contractors and suppliers.
13. Provide monthly performance management reports to the Head of Health and Safety.
Qualifications:
1. NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
2. Experience in a warehouse/food manufacturing/logistics environment.
3. Previous experience in a Health and Safety management role.
4. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
5. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the relevant environments.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify hazards.
8. Ability to drive a culture of health and safety.
9. Leadership skills to inspire prioritization of safety.
10. Proficiency in G-Suite Software is ideal.
11. Knowledge of ISO45001 and world-class manufacturing standards is desirable.
