Chaucer is seeking a Data Product Owner to organise, manage and design Data Products in collaboration with the Data Business Partner. You will be responsible for analysing the requirements and ensuring that impacts up and down stream are considered during the creation of the product. You will work with the data engineers, testers and dashboard designers to ensure that the products are delivered on-time and to specification.
The Data & Analytics team will be organised into Business Domains to ensure that the requirements, strategy, and improvements deliver value to the business. Each Data Product will work with a Data Business Partner to create solutions that meet the business requirements.
You will be responsible for analysing the requirements gathered by the Data Business Partner and understanding them in the context of Chaucer’s Data environment. You will work with the technical teams to develop a solution and analyse the impact in Chaucer’s Data Eco-System to ensure continuity and consistency across the Data Product portfolio. You will ensure that the technical resources in the domain deliver on-schedule to specifications and manage deployment to the business.
You will report to the Data Product Owner Manager and work as part of the Data Ops team under the direction of the Head of Data Delivery.

You will need to keep the Data Business Partner and Head of Data Ops up to date with the status and pro-actively address challenges and delays. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both written and verbally with clear decisions and outcomes easily understood based on the audience.
You will support the Data Office to enhance the maturity of the Data Culture and Data Fluency within Chaucer and ensure that everyone is continuously improving their abilities and in a position to take advantage of emerging developments in Data and Analytics.
Main Duties
1. Understand how data informs business strategy and combine this understanding with domain expertise to support data-driven insights and incremental value.
2. Manage the prioritisation of resources in the domain to deliver Data products to the business.
3. Analyse requirements presented by the Data Business Partner and provide impact assessment up and down stream prior to development to ensure consistency.
4. Own the end-to-end life cycle of Data Product development of specified products and ensure technical resources are delivering on schedule.
5. Create knowledge base of impact analysis and technical specifications of data products.
6. Support in the creation of visually appealing and informative data products that effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders.
7. Be an ambassador for Data & Analytics, advocating for the data strategy, data skills and best practices.
8. Be an advocate of Data Governance and Ethical use of data and building trust with partners.
9. Ensure the right culture and behaviours are promoted and communicated. Act as a role model.
10. Track, manage, mitigate, and communicate risks, issues, and status as it relates to our global data transformational goals, strategic initiatives, and processes to various levels of management.
Knowledge of Data & Analytics best practices.
Ability to analyse requirements and determine the impact on the Chaucer Data Eco System.
Creative problem-solving to design a product to meet the requirements of the Chaucer stakeholders and Data Business partners to support Chaucer’s business goals.

Experience in insurance or similar industry in utilizing a consultative approach to understand business needs.
Understanding of the following data technologies: SQL Server, Cloud Data Lake (Snowflake) and Data Visualisation (Power BI).
Analyses data requirements and provides impact analysis.
Demonstrated coordination of technical teams to create a Data Product.
A logical thinker and creative problem solver who can use data to instigate change in business areas.
An interest in staying abreast with and understanding new technologies as the landscape changes over time.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to clearly document and share knowledge on solutions and requirements.
