BASIC SALARY:
Up to £65,000 dependant on your relevant experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This brand-new role through expansion - you will join an experienced team of 5 manufacturing / process engineers reporting straight into the Engineering Director. They like to lead with autonomy, trust and accountability giving you the freedom to be successful.
You will own the manufacturing processes for your assigned areas (cell). We will discuss with you where we feel you best fit - moulding the role around your skill set.
You will ensure a safe and efficient working environment for everyone, whilst helping us to deliver product quality on time and within our customers' budgets. You know no two days will be the same - but with your work centralising around the implementation of new products and new manufacturing processes and routings, you won't get bored. You'll certainly love a challenge!
You will also coach and lead our shop floor operators, and machinists and problem solve for them in production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Create and maintain process documentation including work instructions, PFMEA, Control plans, maintenance plans etc.
2. Optimise our existing production processes by driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and costs down.
3. Manage any Capex projects from identification through justification, implementation, and then validation.
4. Manage tooling required for production and create and manage BOMS and routings.
5. Responsible for COPQ: Scrap, rework and returns. Ultimately reducing and eliminating waste.
6. Work with the NPD team to ensure new products transition efficiently to the shop floor.
7. Properly deploy lean tools and practices throughout our operation. Including standard work, 5S, TPM, VRK and VSM.
YOUR BACKGROUND:
1. Aside from being educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline such as Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering you will have solid practical work experience in a similar role in a metal machining environment.
2. You will be a strong problem-solver, you're analytical, love data and you thrive on process development, improvement and NPI. You will have a proven track record of developing excellent manufacturing processes and be able to show us the value you've added.
3. Be able to demonstrate where you have deployed lean tools and practices including six sigma, kaizen, and lean manufacturing projects.
4. You will have the ability to lead and influence people at all levels of the business.
