An award-winning Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their exceptional team at their Reading site. The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN. Working within a well-resourced and specialist setting, the SEN Teacher will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that cater to individual learning needs
2. Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
3. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school staff
4. Develop and implement EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
5. Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals
6. Support students in developing key life skills alongside academic progress
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
2. Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with complex needs, ASD, or communication difficulties
3. A strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, interventions, and behaviour management techniques
4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
5. A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to teaching
