About the Role
As a Kitchen Team Member, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a hygienic and organized workspace. You’ll work closely with the kitchen and wider team to deliver high-quality dishes while adhering to food safety standards. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation:
1. Prepare ingredients such as chopping, cutting, and marinating as per recipes.
2. Measure and mix ingredients following standardized recipes and specifications.
3. Ensure all dishes meet the company’s quality standards.
2. Cooking and Plating:
1. Cook dishes, monitoring quality and consistency.
2. Operate kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers, and blenders, safely and efficiently.
3. Plate and garnish dishes to ensure visual appeal.
3. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety:
1. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
2. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
3. Store ingredients and prepared dishes properly to avoid contamination.
4. Inventory and Supply Management:
1. Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Kitchen Manager.
2. Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing deliveries.
3. Minimize food waste by utilizing ingredients efficiently.
5. Time Management and Coordination:
1. Ensure all dishes are prepared on time, especially during peak service hours.
2. Coordinate effectively with team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
6. Adaptability:
1. Adjust to menu changes or ingredient substitutions quickly.
2. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
What We’re Looking For
1. Key Skills:
1. Knife Skills: Proficiency in cutting, slicing, dicing, and chopping ingredients safely and efficiently.
2. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistent quality.
