Join us as a Software Engineer Permissions at Barclays where you will support the acceleration of a new digital platform capability, transforming and modernising our digital estate to build a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart. This is an exciting and key role, partnering with business aligned engineering and product teams, to ensure a collaborative team culture is at the heart of what we do. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as solid experience in full stack development technologies such as Java, React, API & microservices, knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, project exposure to Policy Management (XACML, Open Policy Agent, OPA Gateway, OPA debugging and testing) and Implementation of Role Based Access Control and Policy Based Access Control. Additional relevant skills include cloud computing, experience in DevSecOps, Infrastructure as a Code tools, containerization and knowledge of authentication.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
1. Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
2. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
3. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
4. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
5. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
6. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
7. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
