Company Overview - CNC Machinist
Our Client is currently looking for a CNC Machinist to join their highly valued team on a full-time basis. We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Machinist with at least 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in manual turning, milling, and CNC programming, setting, and operating. Experience in machining aluminium and magnesium castings, as well as test bars, is essential for this role.
CNC Machinist Role and Responsibilities:
1. Programming machines to customer specifications using drawings provided.
2. Setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines.
3. Sourcing the necessary tooling and fixturing for all machining operations.
4. Keeping standard operating procedures (SOPs) and setup sheets updated.
5. Continuously improving machining processes where possible.
6. Working in accordance with the company's Quality Control procedures to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
7. Inspecting finished work for quality and accuracy.
8. Completing daily checks in line with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) requirements.
9. Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
10. Working efficiently under pressure to meet production demands.
11. Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
12. Collaborating effectively within the team to ensure smooth operations.
13. A working knowledge of Continuous Improvement practices and problem-solving skills would be advantageous.
CNC Machinist Skills and Experience:
1. At least 5 years of experience in manual turning, milling, and CNC programming, setting, and operating.
2. Experience machining aluminium and magnesium castings and test bars.
3. Ability to programme machines based on customer drawings.
4. Knowledge of sourcing tooling and fixturing for machining operations.
5. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to inspect and measure work accurately.
6. Familiarity with Quality Control procedures and adherence to safety and TPM requirements.
7. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong organisational and team-working skills.
10. A background in Continuous Improvement practices and problem-solving is a plus.
