KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Having full involvement in projects from the start; the role is varied, and no two projects are the same.
2. Managing relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
3. Conducting individual study in your own time towards achieving chartered surveyor status.
4. Assist in the management and administration of NEC 3/4 forms of contract.
5. Working across the full project life cycle:
6. Preparing, negotiating, and agreeing final accounts.
7. Preparing sub-contract and material packages.
8. Preparing cost budgets/Plans and prices for contract variations.
9. Developing monthly reporting for management.
10. Controlling and monitoring expenditure against budget.
11. Formulating invitation to tender documents.
12. Reviewing the returned tenders.
13. Administering the contracts including contractual correspondence.
14. Responding to CE notifications etc. through to claims management.
15. Dispute resolution support.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
1. Candidates should have an interest in the commercial aspect of Construction and will be able to demonstrate commercial analysis and financial awareness.
2. Candidates can come from a Quantity Surveying background or post grad in a construction qualification/degree.
3. Practical knowledge of quantity surveying procedures.
4. Ability to communicate with business colleagues proactively.
5. A commitment to offer customers a best value service.
6. Good IT and communication skills particularly in Microsoft 365 packages.
7. The ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Strong numeracy skills.
2. Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
3. Ability to foster relationships with professionals of all levels.
4. Analytical approach to problem-solving.
5. Willingness to travel (graduates will be expected to work on projects across various UK locations in order to gain breadth of experience, although the base location will remain constant).
6. Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time.
7. Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying course (or equivalent).
8. Working towards or willing to start working towards MRICS qualification or equivalent.
9. A strong work ethic to see the job through and deliver excellent service to our clients.
