About the role
Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy has an exciting opportunity to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant on a Fixed Term Contract until 22.07.25. The hours for this position will be 8.45 am - 12 noon Monday to Friday (16.25 hours a week).
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be passionate about teaching and learning and believe in developing the true potential of children.
You will have a calm and positive disposition, the ability to break down activities into small step teaching, and will nurture, inspire, challenge, and motivate pupils.
Implementing clear boundaries and routines, you will use behaviour management in all areas around school.
Job requirements
We wish to recruit a highly committed Teaching Assistant who has the knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs.
You should have the ability to communicate effectively with our children, their families, and staff. In this role, you will be working alongside a wide range of professionals all with the common goal of ensuring the best care and education is provided to our children.
You will have positive behaviour management skills and be flexible, able to work on your own initiative.
Experience working with children who have profound and multiple learning disabilities or Autism is ideal, but not necessarily in an educational setting. A relevant qualification would also be welcomed.
You will be enthusiastic and passionate about child development, play, and interactions, with knowledge on how you can develop this further to enhance children's experiences.
Working with us
All new starters with the Trust receive a thorough induction programme, followed by a targeted training programme for the role. Ongoing development is provided, and we actively encourage career development through a range of continuous professional development and longer programmes of learning, including apprenticeships.
We offer generous terms and conditions of employment.
