This is an exciting time to join Stantec. We have achieved incredible growth over the past number of years and our recent acquisition of ZETCON Engineering gives us a strong platform focused on consultancy in the German market.
To support our growth, we are seeking a fluent German speaking Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team in Redditch. We can be flexible with location but the role will require you to attend the office at least 2 times per week.
You will provide overall legal support to the German based business covering an exciting mix of transactional support to contracts with our clients to a wide range of corporate matters which could adapt around your own skills and career growth with Stantec but could include areas such as claims, employment, property, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, however experience now in all these areas is not a prerequisite.
You may become involved in future acquisitions across Europe and also help with the vital role of integration. You will partner with business leaders to help them grow whilst ensuring compliance with applicable laws and being part of the Stantec Inc public company group. You will manage and mitigate legal risks, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements and generally support an exciting growing business.
You will have the support of the senior members of the Legal Team and will have the opportunity to play a key role for us through the integration period and beyond. You will also be part of the Legal team which looks after all regions outside of North America, so there is plenty of opportunity for diversity, growth and interest.
ABOUT YOU
You will be qualified with a relevant legal professional qualification and fluent in German. We are open as to whether you are qualified in the UK, Germany or elsewhere, but a strong knowledge of the basic principles of German law would be very useful.
You will have an understanding of corporate governance principles and best practices and an interest in working for a public company (Stantec is listed on the Toronto and New York Stock Exchanges). You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. We are very open to considering candidates from a wide range of PQE levels and experience backgrounds.
