Position: Powertrain Electronics Engineer Location: Peterborough, England Visa Sponsorship: Not required Overview: We are seeking an experienced Powertrain Electronics Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. This exciting role involves working on the integration of cutting-edge electronics into engine systems for construction machinery. You will collaborate with multiple teams to enhance the performance and efficiency of engine control systems, providing vital support throughout the product development process. Responsibilities: Provide technical support for the development and integration of engine electronic systems across various stages of the product lifecycle. Collaborate on defining system architectures, including schematic design and diagramming. Select appropriate electronic components that meet project specifications. Participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and validation activities to ensure system reliability. Maintain and refine test plans for system validation and performance optimization. Offer support for technical queries related to schematics, wiring, pinouts, and software functionalities. Investigate and resolve reported quality issues, proposing corrective actions when necessary. Required Qualifications and Experience: A degree in engineering or a related field, with relevant experience in electronic systems engineering (HNC/NVQ level 4 may also be considered). Proven experience working with electronic control systems, particularly within the automotive, off-highway, or industrial equipment industries. Strong understanding of system integration, including communication signals, components, and fault diagnosis. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define and refine technical specifications. Experience with system verification testing, FMEA, and quality assurance processes. A solid understanding of internal combustion engines and their electronic control mechanisms. Desirable Skills: Experience with electronic control system development for off-highway machinery, automotive, or similar applications. Proficiency with tools such as DOORS, Teamcenter, CANape, and CANalyzer. Skilled in using oscilloscopes for system development and diagnostics. Familiarity with engineering tools like Siemens Teamcenter Engineering and Creo. Experience with PPAP, FMEA facilitation, and design validation processes.
