The School and Role
This large primary school in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with a GOOD Ofsted rating is part of a Multi Academy Trust and has a hard-working and dedicated SLT. The appointed SENDCo will be working full time, you will:
* Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
* Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCPs in line with the SEND code of practice.
* Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
* Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies.
* Advise on the use of the school's budget and other resources to meet pupils' needs effectively, including staff development.
* Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
* Lead and manage staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources.
* Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
* Attend and review PEP meetings.
Requirements
The desired SENDCo will have:
* Experience of working as SENDCo
* Accredited SENDCo qualification
* QTS
* Experience of working with pupils with SEND
* A passion for the progress of primary school pupils
* An ability to work as part of a team
