A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Professor Paul Bays at the University of Cambridge, Department of Psychology to work on a collaborative project with Professor Máté Lengyel in the Department of Engineering. The successful candidate will work on a research project investigating the computational and neural principles by which visual information is encoded and maintained in human memory on different timescales.
The research will combine artificial neural network and machine learning methods with human behavioural measurements of visual perception and memory. The researcher will design, conduct and analyze research on this project in consultation with Profesor Bays and Profesor Lengyel, and write and communicate results as scientific papers and in scientific presentations at national and international conferences.
Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, vision science, or any other relevant subject, with a strong analytical and mathematical background, and experience of modelling behavioural and/or neural data. Applicants will need to demonstrate a record of research productivity and the ability to work creatively and independently.
