Job summary Do you have an interest in physiotherapy? We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated physiotherapy assistant practitioner. You will be based at Harefield Hospital as an important member of a well-established and highly respected physiotherapy department. The role involves assisting in treating adults following cardiothoracic surgery and transplantation which will regularly involve the use of rehabilitation equipment and hoists. You will be closely supported by, and receive regular teaching from highly skilled, experienced senior physiotherapists. After working for GSTT for at least 1 year, there may be an opportunity to apply for a physiotherapy apprentice position. Main duties of the job This person will need very good organizational skills and the ability to work as a member of a busy team. It is essential to be self driven, use initiative and have very good communication skills, both with other professionals and with patients and their carers. Good IT / word processing skills are essential to be able to carry out administration and clerical duties. There will be regular supervision, training and support from highly skilled therapists to address learning needs and personal development. They will be expected to work closely with the other members of the MDT, especially the nursing staff.
