Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences. You’ll supervise classes, provide support, and ensure that students remain engaged with pre-set work. This role requires excellent classroom management skills, the ability to build positive relationships with students, and a flexible approach to working in diverse school environments. Key Responsibilities: Supervising and managing students in the absence of the regular class teacher. Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring that students stay on task. Managing classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a positive learning environment. Providing feedback to teachers on student progress and any issues encountered during lessons. Adapting to various school settings and quickly building rapport with students and staff. Requirements: Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role within secondary education. Strong classroom management skills and confidence in handling various age groups and subjects. An adaptable and flexible approach to meet the needs of different schools. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students. A valid DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
