We are seeking a forward-thinking Specialist Physiotherapist to join our friendly, supportive, and innovative team. This is a full-time permanent post with some evening clinic cover required.
Main Duties
The MSK Physiotherapy service provides comprehensive treatments for patients with various MSK related complaints. We operate as part of the Wirral MSK triage service, providing assessment and treatment of MSK conditions and referring back to triage for further investigation where necessary. We also receive referrals from secondary care with a mixture of orthopedic, rheumatology, and post-operative conditions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess patients to a high standard and provide evidence-based interventions in community settings throughout the Wirral peninsula.
2. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
About Us
The MSK service offers osteopathy, outpatient neurology, hand splinting, and access to well-equipped patient gyms. We have close links to the podiatry service for biomechanical assessments.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
1. Broad experience of working in various clinical areas as a physiotherapist.
2. Good knowledge of working in specialist physiotherapy areas.
3. Knowledge of current best practice in specialist physiotherapy areas.
4. Effective working within an MDT.
5. Good computer skills.
6. Excellent clinical reasoning skills.
7. Broad base of clinical physiotherapy knowledge.
Desirable Criteria
1. Clinical experience of working in related clinical areas.
2. Experience as a physiotherapist in the NHS and awareness of current NHS and organization issues.
3. Respiratory on-call competence.
Requirements
1. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to work under own initiative and be adaptable, flexible, and approachable.
3. Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships.
4. Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
Qualifications and Training
1. Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent.
2. HCPC registered physiotherapist.
