Job Summary
Provide Manufacturing Engineering capabilities to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects. Responsible for delivering robust manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
1. Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled according to procedures or provide alternative procedures in the product planning documents.
2. Develop and evaluate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their qualification results.
3. Implement visual welding inspector written practices.
4. Manage training and certification of welders and welding operators, including qualification and performance evaluation.
5. Perform inspections to verify compliance with aerospace standards and maintain records accordingly.
6. Certify welders' qualifications in accordance with aerospace codes and standards.
7. Maintain a good understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, symbols, drawings, NDT, and quality procedures.
8. Verify inspection records and documentation, including procedure qualification records and welding procedures.
9. Witness WPS qualifications, ensuring compliance with codes and contract requirements.
10. Oversee production welding and inspection processes for compliance.
11. Conduct visual weld inspections and review inspection reports.
12. Supervise and train welding inspectors and assistants.
Job Qualifications
* Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
* Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering or a related field.
* Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar credentials are preferred.
* Satisfactory vision as per relevant standards, capable of reading J2 and passing color perception tests.
* At least 3 years of experience with GTAW and/or EBW welding processes on aerospace materials.
* Experience with aerospace specifications such as AWS D17.1, AWS QC1, AWS B5.1, AWS B5.2, AMS standards, or equivalents.
