We currently have an exciting opportunity for a committed and passionate Kitchen Porter to join our catering team for a busy service on Saturdays during term time.
Our catering team is friendly and approachable with a “can-do” attitude, motivated by a passion for quality and great service delivery. As a flexible team player with excellent communication skills, your working style will support and enhance this ethos.
Experience & Background:
• No experience is necessary as full training is given.
• An NVQ Level 1 in Catering or a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is helpful but not essential.
High personal hygiene standards and a smart and tidy appearance are imperative to this role.
Duties:
You will be responsible for:
1. Maintaining high levels of service and assisting with the smooth running of the school kitchens.
2. Providing support to the Catering Department through the preparation and servicing of the dining room.
3. Assisting with basic food preparation.
4. Ensuring all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, and cookers are kept clean and in good working order, reporting any faults.
5. Maintaining the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
6. Washing up.
Hours of Work:
During the academic year, term time only 23 x Saturdays per year. The hours of work will be 08:00 – 14:30 (inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid break). There may be the opportunity to cover some weekday evenings if required but this is not essential.
Salary:
£12.93 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay).

Pre-Appointment Checks:
