£37,756 to £40,920 per annum (for exceptional performers, there is scope for further progression up to £51,878 per annum)

The Digital Learning and Online Content (DLOC) team is part of the Provost Learning and Teaching Department and has responsibility for delivering excellence in Digital and Online Learning at the University. The Digital Learning Development Team has responsibility for the continual enhancement and assurance of Digital Learning & Digital Practice across the institution as guided by the University Digital Learning Baselines.
As a Learning Technologist you will work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver digital learning enhancements to improve the student experience, exemplifying excellence in digital curriculum development, working to support the University's objectives for the adoption, application, and evaluation of appropriate digital learning technologies for learning, teaching and assessment.
This is a full time role and is a fixed term contract for 9.5 months.
You will have in-depth knowledge of digital learning and of promoting and embedding the use of technology to enhance the student learning experience. You will have a proven track record of teaching and/or conducting training workshops in the application of learning technologies; ideally in a Higher Education (HE) context.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
* Be responsible and accountable for named Colleges to embed pedagogically informed learning technologies throughout the curriculum to enhance the student experience.
* Assess and identify staff development needs in digital learning and digital capabilities. Design and deliver workshops and other appropriate interventions for staff.
* Provide specialist expert advice to academic colleagues on the effective use of technology.
* Lead on digital learning projects to support institutional initiatives.
* Provide bespoke advice, guidance, and training in the application of learning technologies.
* Work flexibly as part of a team to design and create appropriate online learning resources.
* Take responsibility for producing and contributing to scholarly and research activities.
* Research, evaluate and report on new digital practice and technology opportunities.
* Build working relationships with academic and professional services staff.
* Demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly and creatively.
* Promote equality and diversity for students and staff.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, statutory and governance requirements in relation to digital learning.
* Maintain awareness of current developments in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
* Undertake such other duties as are reasonably required by the Head of Digital Learning.
Minimum Qualifications
* Relevant first degree (or equivalent qualification) or comparable knowledge gained through professional experience.
* Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (or equivalent qualification or working towards).
* Fellowship of AdvanceHE (or working towards).
Experience
* Proven track record of teaching and/or conducting training workshops in the application of learning technologies in a Higher Education (HE) context.
* Significant demonstrable experience of designing and developing learning resources using a range of innovative learning technologies.
* Knowledge of a range of learning technologies and their use, application, and value for learning, teaching and assessment in HE.
* In-depth understanding of how technology-enhanced learning initiatives can be most effectively developed.
* Strong knowledge of current and predicted future trends in application of learning technologies.
* Sound understanding of equality and diversity issues in relation to learning, teaching and assessment in HE.
* Evidence of involvement in pedagogic research and/or scholarly activities.
