Commercial:
With boots on the ground authenticity at the heart of everything we do, our comprehensive array of commercial products and services enable you to work directly with our clients, across hedging, risk management, execution and clearing, OTC products, commodity finance and more.
Responsibilities
Job purpose: To join a busy broking desk using established contacts to help grow business and seek new customers and opportunities. To integrate into an established team and enhance product offering to new and existing client base. Develop new business & On-Board customers to trade commodities & other products. Service and provide trade execution services for the existing client base.
Primary Duties:
1. Establish market relationships.
2. Generate new business revenue for StoneX Financial Ltd through client on-boarding and internal cross-selling opportunities.
3. Develop fundamental expertise in commodities market/s and maintain an up to date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work.
4. Continually drive the StoneX Brand actively solicit feedback from industry participants through various means, including trade calls, surveys, industry events, trade shows and conferences.
5. Identify new markets, products, technologies and opportunities.
6. Understand the desk’s business strategy and continually improve the operating model.
7. Participate in pre- and post-trading operational duties including trade reconciliation, trade booking, etc. in compliance with regulations and internal company policies.
8. Execute & On-Board OTC & Listed customers.
9. Establish and maintain relationships and connections in the Commodities Market.
10. Provide customers with seamless trade execution covering options, futures and arbitrage and daily recaps.
11. Maintain awareness of the risk and compliance culture and comply with company policies for which you have any level of responsibility.
12. Exercise independent judgement and act with integrity, responsibility, skill and diligence to avoid conflicts of interest and escalate issues as appropriate.
13. Understand the risks and controls on your desk; what could go wrong, what controls you must prevent/detect or contain these.
14. Escalate risk events immediately and log them within 24 hours via appropriate channels.
15. Report all loss events, or near misses that could have resulted in a loss, in excess of the reporting threshold.
16. Observe standards of market conduct and ensure you are aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory, exchange or clearing house requirements applicable to your role.
17. Complete any mandatory training by the required deadlines.

1. Interest in / knowledge of the Exchange Traded Futures and Options space front to back.
2. Exposure to and interest in futures, swaps and options preferred.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not essential.
2. This role will require FCA approval or achievement of FCA approved status (within 3 months).
3. Fluency in any European language an advantage.
Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Persons role, subject to the Financial Conduct Authority’s (“FCA”) Senior Managers and Certification Regime (“SMCR”) and the Investments Firms Prudential Regime (IFPR). The Senior Managers Regime entered into force for solo regulated firms on 9th December 2019 and the Investments Firms Prudential Regime (IFPR) on 1st January 2022. The Certification Regime entered into force for solo regulated firms on 31st March 2021. Under SMCR and IFPRR, StoneX Financial Ltd (“SFL”) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Material Risk Takers and Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to perform their role. From 31 July 2023, all senior managers are responsible for ensuring that the business of SFL complies with the requirements of the Consumer Duty on an ongoing basis and are accountable for the outcomes retail customers are experiencing, in line with their accountability under SMCR. Under the regulations and guidance issued by the FCA, firms must have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety: honesty, integrity and reputation; financial soundness; and competence and capability.
In order to comply with the requirements of the SMCR, SFL must take reasonable steps to ensure that a person does not perform either a Senior Manager or Certified Role without first being assessed/certified as being fit and proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the fit and proper requirements as described above. The assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
