Role: Clinical Psychologist
Location: Wiltshire (Melksham, Devizes, Salisbury)
Salary: £53,600 per annum
Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week, hybrid working (must visit all homes in the area at least once a week)
Driving licence and access to a car required
Joining bonus: £7,500*
We are looking for a part-time Clinical Psychologist to join our team, providing a comprehensive therapeutic service for children in our care across Salisbury and Melksham in Wiltshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with four new children's homes, including an assessment home where we collaborate closely with the children to identify and meet their individual needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic and psychologically led care, adhering to HCPC and BPS standards, under supervision.
- Undertake comprehensive psychological assessments and prepare reports for children and young people.
- Develop, review, and update therapeutic care plans for children and young people in residential care and education.
- Manage a caseload for individual interventions, providing specialist psychological input in residential and educational settings.
- Contribute to the development of a therapeutically informed service across both education and residential teams.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children and young people, or relevant transferable skills, is essential.
- Post-doctoral knowledge of applied psychology, including developmental lifespan psychology and models of psychopathology.
- Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and complex needs.
- Knowledge and experience in self-harm assessment and management, crisis management, safeguarding, and risk management.
- Experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision.
- A practitioner doctorate or equivalent qualification accepted by the British Psychological Society for HCPC registration.
- Familiarity with therapeutic practices, sensory strategies, and a desire to embed therapeutic practices within services.
- Well-developed communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work autonomously, with peer and individual supervision support.
- Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
