Who You Are A qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with extensive experience in social care, particularly with adults aged 18 and above with disabilities. You possess strong clinical reasoning skills and have conducted Care Act compliant comprehensive OT assessments. You are skilled in prescribing both simple and complex equipment, and are adept at performing risk assessments and Manual Handling assessments. Additionally, you have an in-depth understanding of criteria for major adaptations and the ability to recommend these changes, including managing referrals for a Disabled Facilities Grant as needed. What the Job Involves This full-time position entails conducting comprehensive assessments for adults with disabilities, prescribed under the Care Act. You will evaluate needs and recommend appropriate equipment and adaptations, ensuring compliance with safety and handling protocols. Your role includes assessing and managing risk, while working closely with clients to facilitate necessary major adaptations to enhance their quality of life. You will also handle referrals for financial assistance such as a Disabled Facilities Grant where appropriate.
