Qualifications:
6. NEBOSH Diploma or minimum NVQ 3 in Occupational Safety and Health
7. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or general certificate
8. On-site experience in a Civil Engineering/Ground-Works environment (Vital)
9. Experience in Environmental Management in a construction environment (Desirable)
10. Hold a current UK Driving Licence with your own vehicle
11. Suitable PC Skills using Microsoft Office software/Teams
Responsibilities:
12. Complete site inspections/audits and make recommendations to resolve issues
13. Provide advice to managers, site foremen, and staff
14. Liaise with the client, their H&S Staff, and other H&S staff (e.g., HSE)
15. Conduct Tool Box Talks and other necessary training
16. Complete company inductions and associated documentation
17. Investigate accidents and incidents and write suitable reports
18. Attend Health & Safety, site, and other relevant meetings
19. Assist in drafting, developing, and implementing policies and procedures
Qualities Required:
20. Understanding of groundworks construction methods, materials, and technology
21. Excellent understanding of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Risk management, legislation, and industry standards
22. Reasonable understanding and application of administrative processes for Principal Contractor, Contractor, Temporary Works, and New Roads and Streetworks activities
23. Familiarity with the requirements of major house builders groups
24. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills
25. Conscientious, hard-working, able to work independently and as part of a team
26. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to get along with people
27. Self-motivation, personal drive, and ability to analyze effectively
28. Resilience and assertiveness
29. Willingness and ability to travel within a 50-mile radius of Oxford
30. Ability to work with minimum supervision and under own initiative
