At Medivet Godstone Referral we are expanding our team due to continued growth following our clinic's relaunch in 2024. The role of Head Veterinary Nurse is a key role as we build our clinic's leadership team and prepare for exciting future developments at the clinic. We are looking for an experienced referrals nurse with excellent head nurse leadership qualities to ensure our day-to-day function is efficient and focuses on a quality clinical service for our pets and their owners. You will lead a team of RVNs and VCAs to ensure patient and client care is of the highest quality and that the day runs smoothly for our veterinary surgeons. Working alongside specialists and AVPs in medicine, ophthalmology and surgery you will have the chance use and develop your skills in anaesthesia, advanced diagnostic imaging, surgery, and inpatient care to ensure we provide Exceptional Care. Our onsite facilities include CT, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, radioactive iodine ward, dedicated cat ward, and much more. Working 40 hours per week, the nursing rota may involve some night and weekend work on fair rotation with the other nurses in the team to ensure we are Always There for our patients and their owners. In this role you will: Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team. Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. Lead, manage and promote nurse led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries. Deliver patient monitoring and care. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. Dispense and check medication. Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. Inspire your team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes. Engage, coach and develop your team. Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice across practices and the wider Medivet community. Your Skills and Experience RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. Able to confidently lead a clinical team. Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
