Job summary Applications are invited for this Locum post based at the Wrexham Maelor District General Hospital. The appointee will make up a team of 6 Consultant Cardiologists. This post has arisen from plans to reconfigure and strengthen our existing services. We are particularly seeking to strengthen our already well-developed services in cardiovascular imaging and heart failure services. Expertise in either of these areas would be particularly welcome. However, other subspecialty interests would also be considered and we would like to emphasise the indicative Job Plan can be modified to suit the successful applicant. The Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with easy access to the North Wales coastline, Snowdonia National Park, Liverpool and Manchester. Main duties of the job Together with the other consultant cardiology staff the post holder will provide the following: A comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiology service supported by other members of thedepartment. Non-invasivecardiology Local and regional heart failureservice Local and regional cardiology service management development in collaboration with the BCUHB Cardiology StrategicBoard Professional supervision and teaching of junior medicalstaff. Contributions to local undergraduate and postgraduateactivity. Participation in clinical audit, continuing professionaldevelopment andclinicalgovernance activities on a local, Health Board and All Walesbasis. Development of research and professionalinterests.
