Part Time - 15 hrs per week
This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Patient Safety Midwife (PSM). We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art facility for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.
As part of the Maternity Safety and Quality Team, which has recently been restructured with newly established roles, you will play a key role in improving day-to-day working practices and fostering a dynamic, supportive environment.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in embedding risk management, patient safety, and quality initiatives within maternity services. You will utilise the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) to coordinate responses to patient safety incidents, ensuring lessons learnt are shared and actions are implemented across the department.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the current post-holder, who will be transitioning to a 0.6 WTE position. This will provide an excellent chance to learn from their extensive expertise and experience within the department, offering valuable support as you step into this pivotal role.
Main Duties of the Job
You will maintain a visible clinical presence, attend safety huddles, and engage with staff daily to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the Maternity Risk Register, overseeing incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with national standards such as MBRRACE-UK, CQC, and the Maternity Incentive Scheme (MIS).
