Join a leading British supply chain solutions company with a heritage spanning almost 100 years. Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant to manage fixed assets and support our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has a knack for problem-solving, and is currently pursuing an accounting qualification. Day-to-day of the role: Manage fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, and adjustments. Handle capital expenditure reporting and back checks control. Complete all relevant balance sheet reconciliations. Manage fixed asset inbox queries and ensure timely resolution. Support half-year and full-year statutory reporting requirements to aid the audit process. Complete Office for National Statistics (ONS) returns and provide support to the wider finance team. Drive continuous improvement and update standard operating procedures. Engage in other accounting duties and projects as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working in an office environment, preferably within a finance team. Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AAT). Proven experience in completing balance sheet reconciliations. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage competing deadlines. Demonstrated teamwork skills and a commitment to achieving collective goals. Strong Excel skills and the ability to identify process improvements that deliver quality and efficiency benefits.
