An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated registered nurse with a varied clinical experience to join the Childrens Ambulatory Care and Outpatients Unit. (CACOU)
The CACOU team are passionate about constantly improving our service and delivering high quality care to our patients.
We are looking for committed individuals with excellent organisational and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are required to lead and support the team and to undertake a wide range of administrative duties in tandem with clinical duties.
The successful candidate will demonstrate criteria set out in the Job Description and Person Specification. Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting would be an advantage but not essential.
The candidate will be based at Frimley Park, there may be occasions where they will be required to work on one of our other sites.
The Outpatient team support multiple paediatric speciality clinics such as Oncology, Rheumatology, Allergy, Respiratory, Neonatal and Diabetic clinics.
You will act as an advocate for the patients, nursing and medical colleagues and actively participate in further developments and expansion of the outpatient’s service to help deliver the FHFT Future Strategy.
The post will also involve providing mentoring and supporting junior and new staff and all types of learners working in the department.

To work clinically providing visible leadership, direction, co-ordination, and forward planning of services within the Frimley Park Childrens Ambulatory Care and Outpatients Unit. (CACOU)
You will serve as a prominent role model, leading by example, demonstrating diverse expert clinical skills, clear professional and organisational values while overseeing the OPD areas. Manage service needs and provide support to the Senior OPD team. In conjunction with Practice Development (PD), you will assess and actively support the Registered Nurses (RN) and Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) to practice competently and develop within their roles to ensure a high standard of care and patient experience are maintained in line with the Frimley Health Strategy, Vision, and Values.
To review and manage staff allocations using Health Roster and safe staffing model, including annual leave and sickness management.
To lead on quality improvement projects as necessary.
Pro-actively respond and investigate complaints, follow these through and cascade information and learning to the wider team.
To liaise with Paediatric Matron and Senior Sisters about untoward incidents, and staffing concerns you will be involved in investigating and reporting these via the incident reporting system.
To actively lead and embed local and national initiatives, models of working and service development into practice.
To ensure compliance with all Frimley Health and OPD policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and guidelines, e.g. (but not limited to) consent, chaperoning, WHO checklist, COSHH, Information Governance & Infection prevention and control.
To display an awareness of budgetary management.
Participate in the Frimley Health Excellence methodology, which requires a transformational mindset to create a culture of continuous improvement
