Due to an internal promotion, we are on the lookout for a dynamic Site General Manager to join our team. You'll have the chance to deliver outstanding results and management excellence on behalf of our prestigious customer.
YOUR ROLE
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will oversee all operations for our Northern sites, including Telford and Longtown. You'll thrive in a dynamic environment, holding full responsibility for effective service delivery, budget management, and achieving service levels. You'll work closely with stakeholders within our government and defence contract and partnership group, as well as the wider Kuehne+Nagel business, to develop and deliver efficient and effective warehousing solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage the workforce to align with the workload priorities to achieve KPI targets and offer best utilisation of resource for the Customer.
* Management & Implementation of strategic reviews for operational requirements and changes across departments, so that KPI's and customer service levels are met.
* Develop and implement new initiatives for continued operational and service improvements.
* Continuously seek to optimise the cost-effectiveness, productivity and customer service levels of the Services through planned and regular communication mechanisms and the proactive assessing of the operational requirements.
* Manage local trade union relationships ensuring all issues are properly dealt with.
* To play a vital role in shaping the culture and approach of the workforce and supporting and developing the team through leading, coaching and communicating - facilitating a focus on business excellence and continuous improvement of operational efficiency and customer service standards.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
* Management experience of operating within a commercial/transport warehouse operation.
* Ideally logistics solutions development experience.
* Experienced in operating within multi-site logistics operations and managing employee relations and customer/trading relations.
* Exposure to operating within a commercial environment sufficient to develop effective customer service and commercial understanding.
* Financially astute and held responsibility for operational budgets (budgetary management, cost effectiveness and delivery of financial targets).
* Planning & Management of efficient and effective delivery of services to ensure contractual performance targets and KPI's are met.
