Your new role
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough are looking for 8 full-time qualified, experienced and competent social workers to work in a busy safeguarding team. You will be required to support the team in responding to safeguarding referrals relating to Sandwell residents. The safeguarding team is a busy team, and you must demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and guidance, having applied safeguarding procedures in your practice. The service aims to improve the outcomes of residents in Sandwell by:
* Working with vulnerable adults and carers, helping them to achieve ambitions, helping them to do things for themselves, take control over their lives as much as possible, building relationships and networks that maintain their independence.
* Providing a service that flexibly meets the needs of service users within budgetary constraints.
* Focusing on the customer’s outcomes will also contribute to the strategic outcomes of Sandwell MBC and partner organisations.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will require a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent), current professional registration with Social Work England, and a minimum of 2 years experience working with adults in a Social Work position. Good assessment skills and knowledge of legislation that underpin Social Work are essential.
