We are looking for a Digital Capabilities Technician to join the BFI’s Collections Management Team at the National Film Archive in Berkhamsted. The Digital Capabilities Technician will support the technical installation, connection, and maintenance of digital technologies and networking equipment used by film, video, audio, paper, and digital media specialists. They will triage new equipment and software requests, and undertake Cyber Security patching and updating.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Install and connect digital technologies and network equipment across the Conservation Centre
2. Perform hardware installations and system connections
3. Undertake Cyber Security patching and updating on Windows and Mac workstations and other networked devices, utilising agreed technical solutions, in consultation with the Archive Cyber Security Engineer
4. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of connected devices and network infrastructure to identify potential risks, under the instruction of the archive’s Cyber Security Engineer
We are looking for candidates who have:
* Relevant experience in IT deployment, management, and installation
* Understanding of Cyber Security principles and their practical application
* TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting
* Network hardware setup (switches, routers)
* Ethernet and wireless network configuration
