We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Loughborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students within a specialist setting focused on holistic care and education. You will work closely with both verbal and non-verbal autistic learners, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to students with a variety of needs, both within the classroom and in one-to-one or small group settings.
- Help students understand and follow instructions given by teachers.
- Support individual learners or small groups in the classroom or within the learning support department.
- Monitor and record student progress to assist in their development effectively.
Experience
- Previous experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role.
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to meet the diverse needs of students.
- A positive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children.
Eligibility Requirements
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
- Possess an enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered on the online update service, or be willing to apply for a new one.
- Provide two professional, child-related references covering the last two years.
