We have developed this new post to progress our ambitions in relation to staff recruitment and retention. We aim to increase the opportunities available for existing employees for career progression and attract talent into Social Care through the provision of career pathways. The postholder will be expected to collaborate with a wide range of partner agencies and services, including Higher Education Institutions, Registration and Scrutiny Bodies, our Employment Training Unit, and Council and HSCP services.
You will manage the day-to-day delivery of services provided by Falkirk Social Services Assessment Centre and be the Centre contact for Scottish Qualification Award (SQA) Body. The Centre is well established, providing assessment and verification of a range of Scottish Vocational Qualification awards for frontline practitioners and managers working across Adult and Children's Services. Centre programmes provide opportunities for our staff to undertake vocational awards associated with professional registration requirements. Our Centre also provides development opportunities for staff in support of continuous professional development and career progression.
There is a team of three Assessor-Verifiers and two Assessors who would be supervised by the postholder.
You will represent the Social Work Service in meetings with educational, research, and innovation institutions, and awarding bodies in the design, development, and delivery of training and education programmes, including apprenticeships related to career progression. You will also collaborate on projects designed to raise awareness of the wide range of roles across Social Work and Social Care and provide work experience opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
You must hold a SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 9 or equivalent qualification and a SQA Care Services Leadership and Management Award at SCQF level 10 or equivalent.
