Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of Electrical Installation and Test Engineers in a leading engineering organization.
This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance and operational efficiency in manufacturing and assembling specialist projects, working with both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
Candidates must provide 3 years' worth of employment references and be eligible to obtain basic security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Electrical Installation and Test Engineers, ensuring high-quality standards and safe working practices.
* Support supervisors in coordinating workloads and addressing performance issues.
* Oversee production to ensure on-time delivery in line with the master plan.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety management systems and promote a positive safety culture.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing and 5S processes.
* Manage local policies and procedures and foster a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in managing manufacturing, installation, and assembly processes.
* Proven track record in managing a team, particularly during periods of strategic change.
* Strong knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, and testing processes.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and health & safety standards in a workshop environment.
* City & Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
* City & Guilds certification in Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and MRP systems.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Salary:
$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
