About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Plumbing to join our Construction and Building Services department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Teaching and Assessment: Prepare, deliver, assess, and verify subject specialisms across various courses and levels, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
* Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum development, prepare up-to-date schemes of work, and implement new learning materials.
* Student Support: Guide students to achieve success, monitor progress, maintain records, and extend learning experiences through vocational opportunities.
* Administrative and Quality Processes: Complete administrative tasks, participate in course team meetings, implement quality processes, and contribute to course reviews.
* Marketing and Safeguarding: Participate in marketing activities, ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and health and safety requirements, and engage in continuous training and development.
About you:
* Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in plumbing and heating; Minimum Level 3 in Education and Training; GCSE grade A-C in English and mathematics or equivalent.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with CG 8202-25, 8202-35, 5357, 6219, 7202 curriculum; Current developments in UK Building Services.
* Experience: Teaching and assessing on various programmes and levels or working in UK industry; Working effectively with diverse backgrounds; High performance in previous roles.
* Skills: Excellent organisational skills; Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; Effective communication face to face, on the telephone, and in writing.
* Commitment: Promoting and safeguarding welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; Continuous professional development; Flexible approach to work and working times.
