Reach Printing Services Oldham have an exciting opportunity for a Skilled Shift Engineer with either a Mechanical or Electrical background.
Please note this role includes days and night shift - 2 days 2 nights - 4 off rota.
We a looking for a highly skilled and motivated Engineer, this role is crucial to ensuring a seamless operation and the maintenance of Reach's print production.
You will be responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is conducted in a prompt manner and deliver improvement engineering through the use of structured problem solving techniques and applying engineering technical knowledge.
You must have experience within FMCG, ongoing training and development will be provided.

Job Description
1. Observe, follow and maintain the integrity of all safe systems across site and follow any safety instructions, as required
2. Deliver improvement engineering through the use of structured problem solving techniques and applying engineering technical knowledge
3. Assist and support operators to undertake low level engineering tasks in structured process
4. Develop standard operating procedures and support production activities to improve equipment performance
5. To support engineering and operations as directed when required
6. Ensure compliance with engineering visual standards, where applicable
7. Ensure that breakdowns are attended promptly and resolved properly, using all the resources at your disposal
8. Work to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted in a prompt manner
9. Complete all mandatory training requirements, as requested by the company, to enable a safe working environment for all
10. Any other additional duties as requested by line management that they are trained and/ or capable of performing as necessary, in line with business requirements
Qualifications
Level 3 (NVQ) engineering qualification in an appropriate electrical or mechanical
discipline; OR Evidence of an appropriate, time-served, apprenticeship in engineering
SPECIFIC SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
11. The ability to work within a flexible team and shift-based, environment
12. The ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines within an FMCG environment
13. Be aware of, and have the ability to use, a range of continuous improvement tools and techniques
14. Embrace new technology and demonstrate an understanding of computer-based systems and equipment
15. Have excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written form
16. Ability to interact at all levels within an organisation, including management, operators, contractors and visitors to site
17. Must be IT literate and have the ability to manage an email account effectively;
18. login to web-based training suites and follow training online; report, track and
19. follow-up and raise jobs on our CMMS system; competently carry out basic document manipulation on software such as MS Word and Excel
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCES:
20. Experience as a shift-based engineer, in a manufacturing environment
21. FMCG background
22. Flexibility approach to working patterns, including the hours, times and days of work, sometimes changing at short notice
23. Be able to work across a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, covering 365 days a year
