About CDP’s work on forests and land
CDP’s forests work aims to remove commodity-driven deforestation from corporate value chains to effectively contribute to a climate, nature and people positive world. CDP’s work on forests started in 2014 and now boasts the backing of over 700 financial institutions and 330 purchasers with over US$148 trillion in assets and buying power. The work provides critical forests- and land-related data from the world’s largest corporations that buy, sell or trade key forests risk commodities (incl. cattle products, palm oil, soy products and timber). The data is used to inform the global marketplace on environmental dependencies and impacts that influence commercial risk and opportunity. CDP derived data and insights are used by stakeholders to make informed decisions, supporting companies in their efforts to remove conversion of natural ecosystems from their supply chains. CDP has broadened its focus beyond tropical deforestation and will continue to expand, driving change on key issues across land.
