The Royal Hospital for Children & Young People (RHCYP) is a tertiary paediatric hospital providing specialist services to Lothian and across Scotland. The Department of Dietetics provides services across the care continuum supporting local, regional as well as national paediatric services.
An exciting, permanent opportunity has arisen for a band 6 dietitian to join our team. This post will primarily support the Community Enteral Nutrition and Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (PGHAN) Teams. The post will support the delivery of specialist dietetic care to children and young people receiving home enteral nutrition across Lothian. The post will also support the delivery of the PGHAN dietetic service which may include complex nutrition, liver, IBD, coeliac disease and eosinophilic oesophagitis in outpatient and inpatient settings.
This post will be based at RHCYP, with a frequent requirement to travel widely across Lothian.
In addition to a specialist clinical caseload, the post holder will be expected to support core tasks of the paediatric dietetic team. This would include the management of junior members of staff, supporting a general paediatric caseload, and participation in student training (A, B & C placements).
We are strongly committed to training and support, with CPD, peer support and training opportunities to further develop your specialist clinical skills. Where possible we support a flexible working environment.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
We will fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
