Business Development Manager - eCommerce Fulfillment

The Role: The Fulfilment Business Development & Onboarding Manager specialising in the Ecommerce sector will play a crucial role in driving sustainable business growth by managing customer relationships, optimising pricing strategies, and ensuring efficient systems operation.
This role requires a hands-on professional who understands the complexities of ecommerce logistics, can oversee processes, and work collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute targeted strategies to promote and grow ecommerce logistics services, aligning with broader company goals.
2. Manage key client accounts, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that meets customer requirements and expectations.
3. Identify growth opportunities through analysis and industry insights, prioritising initiatives that add value to existing clients and attract new business.
4. Oversee pricing structures and cost calculations to ensure competitive, profitable proposals tailored to client needs.
5. Optimise internal processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
6. Leverage data-driven insights to recommend improvements to pricing models and service delivery processes.
7. Foster strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.
8. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns proactively and delivering solutions.
9. Collaborate closely with Operations, Customer Service, and IT teams to streamline processes and ensure smooth service execution.
10. Support business growth by managing a healthy sales pipeline, converting leads into opportunities.
11. Implement efficient sales processes that prioritise relationship-building and solutions delivery over cold outreach.
12. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customer challenges within the ecommerce sector, offering tailored logistics solutions that address specific needs.
13. Produce regular reports to monitor performance, evaluate KPIs, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
14. Analyse trends, market data, and customer feedback to refine strategies and service offerings.
15. Present insights and recommendations to senior management to inform business decisions.
Requirements
Essential experience, skills & behaviours
1. Proven experience in business development within the logistics and ecommerce sector, focusing on both systems optimisation and customer relationship management.
2. Demonstrated success in managing pricing, processes, and service delivery to support profitable growth.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in utilising data to optimise processes and drive informed decisions.
4. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to achieve common goals.
5. Proficient in CRM tools, with experience managing customer accounts and ensuring seamless service delivery.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of articulating solutions that align with customer needs.
7. Organised and hands-on approach, able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
8. Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel as needed.
Desirable experience, skills & behaviours
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
2. Specific certifications or training in ecommerce logistics, systems management, or relevant business development areas.
3. Successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check.
Benefits
1. Basic Salary - £50,000 to £55,000 per annum.
