An opening has arisen at Woodlands Park Health Centre for a Salaried GP with a view to Partnership to join our friendly, dynamic and forward thinking team. The post holder will be expected to work four sessions weekly, with two of those sessions on-call. The post is a salaried position with a fixed term contract of six months at first, with a view to join the Partnership thereafter.
Main duties of the job
* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* QOF engagement and Long Term Condition Management.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
* Work two sessions on-call.
* Participation in leadership and training roles in the practice.

Woodlands Park Health Centre is a well-established practice that serves just over 6,500 patients. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to our diverse community. We currently have three GP Partners and a Managing Partner who employ one Assistant Practice Manager, one salaried GP, two Advanced Nurse Practitioners, two Physician Associates, two Practice Nurses, a Health Care Assistant, a Clinical Pharmacist and a Pharmacy Technician. Our clinical team members are supported by a friendly and skilled clerical team which consist of seven members of staff. We are also a training Practice and, as such, often have GP Registrars on site. Woodlands Park Health Centre is part of Cramlington & Seaton Valley PCN and we collaborate with our neighbouring practices across the network.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working as a GP, with a strong commitment to patient care.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
* Interest in practice development and management.
Qualifications
* A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003.
* Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
* Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register.
* Accredited as a member of Royal College Of General Practitioners (MRCGP).
* Competent user of SystmOne.
