Mental Health/Wellbeing Assistant
Are you a recent Graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant? Are you interested in mental health and emotional resilience? Are you considering a career as a Therapist or Psychologist but want to further your experience first?
A Specialist Provision in Wheatley for students with mental health difficulties is looking for a Mental Health/Wellbeing Assistant to join their team full-time, starting as soon as next week. This role involves supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as attachment difficulties and trauma.
Responsibilities:
1. Play a key role in equipping the students with the emotional and social skills needed to succeed when they leave school.
2. Act as a role model to all students, setting high expectations and committing to bringing out the best in them.
3. Raise attainment of the pupils by boosting their self-esteem and emotional wellbeing.
4. Help improve barriers to learning.
5. Motivate students to stay on task & complete their work.
6. Help pupils develop their social skills, emotional regulation, and foster positive relationships with peers.
The ideal Mental Health/Wellbeing Assistant will be passionate about helping young people struggling with their mental health. You will need to be resilient, open-minded, and knowledgeable about mental health and development. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Counselling would be perfect for this position. This role will provide you with the experience needed to train as a Psychologist or Therapist in the near future and give you first-hand insight into the challenges young people face on a daily basis.
Location: Wheatley, South Oxfordshire
Start Date: September
Salary: £80 to £90 per day
