About the Role:
We're seeking skilled electrical operatives to support a major highways infrastructure refurbishment on the A38 Saltash Tunnel. This is a critical project involving the phased upgrade of LV electrical systems to ensure long-term safety, reliability, and compliance with modern standards.
Project Overview:
The 410m A38 Saltash Tunnel is undergoing a comprehensive electrical refurbishment, including the replacement and upgrade of LV cabling, equipment, and associated systems. Works will also extend to the Tamar Bridge and adjacent tunnel buildings. Night shifts will be the primary working hours, with some daytime availability required depending on site access.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, replacement & upgrade of LV distribution systems (switchboards, panelboards, DBs)
Termination of all TCS/SCADA equipment on behalf of the systems integrator
Replacement of lighting and traffic signage
Testing & commissioning of LV apparatus
Adhering to strict safety and quality standards throughout the project
Required Experience:
Highways electrical works
LV distribution installation
Lighting & signage installation
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces (where qualified)

ECS Card
National Highways Safety Passport
HERS Registration

Hard Hat (with chin strap & head torch)

Other Information:
Predominantly night shift work during tunnel closures
Occasional day shifts required for works on the Tamar Bridge or tunnel buildings
Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work as part of a close-knit team
