Acting as the link between Team Members and Supervisors, you’ll lead by example, support the team, and take ownership of daily operations. This is a customer-facing role, so a smart appearance, warm demeanour, and professional attitude are essential to make guests feel welcome and valued.We’re looking for someone confident, approachable, and passionate about hospitality. Previous experience in hospitality or leadership roles is ideal, but a willingness to learn and a commitment to guest satisfaction are equally important. Additional hours may be required to support the hotel during busier periods, including bank holidays. This position will include shifts working Saturdays and/or Sundays. Oversee and support the team in presenting menus, offering suggestions, and ensuring accurate food and beverage orders. Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints promptly, escalating issues only when necessary. Take ownership of the guest experience by anticipating needs and ensuring all aspects of service meet brand standards. Lead pre-service briefings to share goals, updates, and responsibilities with the team. Provide guidance and mentorship to Team Members, fostering their growth and maintaining a positive working environment. Support the team during busy periods, stepping in to assist with tasks as needed. Act as a point of contact for team-related queries and ensure smooth communication with Supervisors and Managers. Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate service delivery. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of service areas and workstations. Assist in inventory checks and stock management, ensuring adequate supplies are available for service. Use the hotel’s Point of Sale (POS) system to process orders and ensure accurate billing. Set up and move furniture for events and meetings as part of C&E services. Ensure the team adheres to health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards. Assist in implementing cleaning schedules and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and organisation. Run shifts independently when required, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Uphold Marriott’s brand standards at all times, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff. Work closely with the Supervisor to implement initiatives that improve team performance and guest satisfaction. Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on standards and procedures. Gather and communicate guest feedback to Supervisors and Management to continuously enhance service quality. Competencies Proven experience in a hospitality role, preferably with some leadership responsibilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food and beverage service, including basic understanding of wines, cocktails, and menu offerings. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures. Professional appearance and attitude, with a proactive and reliable approach to work. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
