As a Quality Control Manager, your main responsibility will be overseeing the construction process, ensuring that homes are built to meet or exceed quality and safety standards expected by our customers. In your role, you will collaborate closely with production, technical, buying, sales, and customer service teams, along with other quality team members, while also working independently. You will identify and help resolve issues before project completion, and the quality team will inspect and approve every new private sale home. attention to detail, and strong understanding of building regulations, warranty standards, industry best practices, and high finish standards will be vital in maintaining the quality and reputation of the homes my client builds. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction work meets group standards, building regulations, and partner expectations. Identify defects, non-compliance issues, or quality problems, and report findings to the relevant project team. Document defects and help manage their resolution by the production teams. Support production teams in benchmarking and setting standards, offering guidance and knowledge where necessary. Motivate and encourage improvements to quality standards. Apply rigorous standards and take responsibility for inspecting and finalizing the approval of private sale homes. Provide feedback on workmanship and materials to regional teams, with the aim of continual improvement. Maintain accurate inspection records, including photographic evidence when necessary. Ensure that defects that could impact building safety, future performance, customer satisfaction, or the company’s reputation are identified and addressed. Recommend improvements to construction processes and quality control. Requirements: Solid experience and technical knowledge of construction, particularly in the UK house-building industry, including both housing and tall residential developments, and familiarity with standard detailing and site operations. Experience as a Quality Inspector in construction or house-building is preferred; however, training can be provided to candidates with the right skills, knowledge, and attitude. In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, NHBC standards, LABC Technical Manual, industry guidance, construction practices, and exemplary standards. Exceptional attention to detail with strong observational and problem-solving skills. Adequate knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the role effectively and seek assistance when needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with production teams and stakeholders.
