Volunteer Development Officer
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (office-based role)
Location: North Leeds - LS17

For over 145 years, Leeds Jewish Welfare Board has provided support to the Jewish community and North Leeds community as one of North Leeds' most established Social Care Charities. Our vision is to positively change lives and we do this by delivering an extensive range of community support and registered care services to over 1,000 people every month.

Role Summary
The Volunteer Development Officer plays a crucial role in supporting LJWB's charity mission to positively change lives. This role will ensure the volunteering team continues to provide a positive experience for our team of nearly 240 volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and are effectively contributing to the organisation's work.
Key responsibilities
1. You will develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
2. You will create engaging material and campaigns to attract potential volunteers.
3. You will design and facilitate training sessions for new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
4. You will conduct regular check-ins with volunteers to assess their satisfaction and address any issues.
Requirements
1. A confident, enthusiastic and accurate communicator both verbal and written.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.
3. High level of organisational skills with a great attention to detail.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
5. Experience of Volunteer Database management system.
6. Proven experience in volunteer management or community engagement.
